Victorian Artifacts

These are from yesterdays' Historic Home tour in Brenham with the #HoustonPhotowalkers. Most of these were set at f/8, 1/45 sec at ISO 800. I like "Low Key Minimalist" shots but sometimes I get carried away forget to change the settings for brighter rooms. This was so much fun. Lots of mood! High resolutions are available.
Irish folk legends warn that you should always empty the dirty bath water in every room before going to bed, otherwise you might invite unwanted spirits into your home.

This was sepia toned for effect.

This was NOT sepia toned. This is color from the actual lighting in the room. (Do you see why I like low key/low exposure, semi-silhouettes?)

Guilt bronze and crystal lamp. You can actually see where the gold leaf has worn away.

There are lots of patterns in a Victorian Home.

This is an abstract/inside view of a chandelier.

Hand-made Lace was a big part of the Victorian era.
